SUMMARY:Lismore Forest roads open for access on first Sunday of the month for club members
DESCRIPTION:Following on our discussion with Forest360\, the club will be going through a trial access period of being able to ride the roads in Lismore Forest on the first Sunday of each month. \nWe have to emphasise that some areas will be closed off at certain times due to harvesting etc. and it would be important to observe any closure signage and/or tape.  There is also no entry through Matatara Rd as that is private property. \n We would also like to point out that there could be other traffic (motorbikes/ quad bikes) on the gravel roads and to observe normal road rules.  The entrance gates will also be locked and bikes will have to be lifted/pushed around them.   Please also take a look at the no go zones sign as you enter the forest. \nWe also encourage members to fill in the online induction form for Forest 360. This will only need to be done once per person and not every time you enter the forest. \nhttps://forest360.tickbox.nz/register \nWe encourage members to initially go with somebody who knows the forest and we will endeavour to have more club rides in the forest in the future.  Mangaone Rd is the main through road in the forest and starts from the first entrance to the forest off SH4.  This joins up with Poronui Rd on the northern boundary of the forest and out again to SH4 which is a good 30km or so loop to start off with.

SUMMARY:April Thursday Club Rides - Hyltons Pit - 6pm - bring lights
DESCRIPTION:The tracks in Hyltons Pit are still running sweet and will hopefully dry out again so the club will continue to meet on Thursday evenings at the Brunswick entrance at 6pm for a 10-15km circuit of all the tracks\, ending up with a whizz down the fun flow trail Bikeshed Shredder. A good opportunity to meet other club members and enjoy a bit of conviviality with an optional drink afterwards at the local Boatshed. \nDaylight Saving ends on Sunday 5 April so will mean that lights will be needed from Thursday 9 April. A light on one’s helmet provides better support for single track riding rather than on the handlebars. Make sure that you have enough battery charge for an hour and a quarter of riding at a brightness with which you are comfortable. \nNight riding gives a whole new dimension to mountain biking and is lots of fun. Give it a go and you might become a convert! \nRozy

SUMMARY:Thursday 6pm club ride – Harakeke forest meet Lake Wiritoa domain car park
DESCRIPTION:In the winter months we alternate our Thursday club rides between Araheke mtb park/Harakeke forest and urban trails. The club has a list of ‘leaders’ who when present on any ride would be prepared to lead that particular ride. All our rides are more-or-less 13km-15km in length and take between 1.25 – 1.45 hours in total with short stops. Urban rides tend to be shorter than the Harakeke rides. Good helmet mounted lights are essential for winter riding. \nMay 7 – Araheke mtb park/Harakeke – meet at Wiritoa Rec Reserve\nMay 14 – Urban ride – meet at i-site\nMay 21 – Araheke mtb park/Harakeke\nMay 28 – Urban ride – meet at i-site \nWe have a Whatsapp group for people who regularly ride on a Thursday evening. If you would like to join it\, please let us know so we can put you on it. It is only a means of communication for those who wish to make sure that there will be others on that particular ride\, especially if the weather is looking dicey. If it is raining\, then it is unlikely that a group ride will go ahead. \nE-bikes are always welcome but please note that the rides cater for analogue biking (unless specifically stated) and the pace is set accordingly. The group may be split if there is a big discrepancy in abilities. \nPlease note these rides on your calendar. \nHope to see you out there.

SUMMARY:MMBC Winter Series 2026 - Round 1 - Tutaenui Reserve\, Marton
DESCRIPTION:24 May – Tutaenui Reserve – Marton\n14 June – Araheke MTB trails (Pauri section) – Whanganui\n12 July – Tutaenui Reserve – Marton\n9 August – Araheke MTB trails \nThe Central Bicycle Studio Winter Series is back for 2026 with the first race of the series at Tutaenui Reserve in Marton (due to storm damage in Foxton). We have four rounds planned for the all-weather trails at Whanganui’s Araheke Trails and Tutaenui Reserve near Marton. Winter Series events have something for everyone\, from little nippers on balance bikes through to seasoned campaigners. While we time all riders and there’s competition for the top spots\, the emphasis is on having fun and challenging yourself. We welcome E-bikes to all events. \nTo help us allocate numbers and get the race database organised before the first race\, we encourage club members (or members of other MTBNZ-affiliated clubs) to enter for the series online before the first race. As another incentive to enter online\, you will get entry for the four-race series for the price of 2.5 individual rounds. You can also enter on the day (Cash Only). \nCost is $10/race and $15/family for members of our club. Online is $25 for the series and $50/family. Online reg closes on 22 May. \nRegistration for U13 is 11am-12.15pm\, 12.30pm start. \nRegistration for U15+ is 11.30am-1.15pm\, 1.30pm start. \nThe short course in Araheke is about 3.5km and the long course is about 4km. The number of times you go around the course depends on what category you are in. \nPlease go to https://mmbc.co.nz/winter-series/ for more information and to enter online.

SUMMARY:MMBC Winter Series 2026 – Round 2 - Pauri MTB Park(Araheke MTB Park)
